Faith

Challenge:  Believing that Christ was resurrected as described in the Bible requires faith and is not verifiable.

Defense:  "The evidence for the life, the death, and the resurrection of Christ is better authenticated than most of the facts of ancient history." - E.M. Blaiklock, Professor of Classics, Auckland University.

For example, the writers who documented Christ's resurrection either were themselves an eyewitness to the resurrection or based their writing on the accounts of other eyewitnesses of the resurrection.  Eyewitness tesitmony is admissible in modern court rooms and is considered one of the most important part of the evidence considered in a trial.

Another exmple is the fact that both Jewish and Roman sources such as Josephus a compilation of fifth-century Jewish writings called the "Toledoth Jeshu" admit that Jesus' tomb was found empty.  This is "positive evidence from a hostile source, which is the strongest kind of historical evidence, because, if a source admits a fact decidedly not in its favor, then that fact is genuine." - Dr. Paul Mayier

There is a significant body of evidence that supports Christ's Resurrection as described in the Bible:

"I claim to be an historian. My approach to Classics is historical. And I tell you that the evidence for the life, the death, and the resurrection of Christ is better authenticated than most of the facts of ancient history . . ."
